The goal was to create a sophisticated workplace reflective of the Lombard International brand and global client base utilizing clean modern design elements.
Workplace Design | 55,000 SF | Philadelphia, PA
Lombard International, a global specialty insurer and investment management firm, engaged L2P to complete a full renovation, including schematic design, construction documentation, vendor coordination, design and specification of all furniture elements and artwork consultation. Lombard sought, above all, a sophisticated space that would accurately reflect the brand’s legacy of providing highly bespoke, exceptional services to a global client base.
The Philadelphia-based office opens into a reception area featuring all the staples of classic contemporary design— a palette of glass, marble panels, crisp white stone flooring and warm zebra wood walls. A dynamic ceiling feature composed of angular wood panels catches the eye, as does a central staircase set against a two-story stone wall.
The workspace planning strategy locates teaming clusters of workstations along the perimeter allowing natural daylight to flood the space. Internal offices have full glazed fronts creating a transparent environment with a strong visual connection between colleagues. The large flexible hub provides collaborative workspace in a modern café setting, while also accommodating ‘town hall’ meetings and entertainment space. Art galleries at transition spaces showcase offer the user a unique experience as they move through the space.
