Corporate Headquarters | 250,000 SF | Wilmington, DE
The Chemours Company is a world leader in titanium technologies, fluoroproducts, and chemical solutions. Chemours enlisted L2P to help transform their workplace in the historic DuPont Building.
Chemours’ goal was to reflect a strong global branded experience throughout the workplace. Our planning strategy focused on reorganizing 800 employees in a vertical campus environment spanning 10 floors over 250,000 SF. The vision for the evolution of Chemours was set during an intensive, data-based engagement process with Chemours senior leaders, functional leaders and associates from across the organization. The L2P team engagement strategy focused on an assessment of Chemours workplace performance needs. We engaged the organization at all levels through in depth surveys, participative workshops, work process observation and in-depth studies of work styles and space utilization.
The result is a design vocabulary that embodies Chemours values of simplicity, transparency, and integrity in a more efficient and productive workplace defined by modest elegance.
Our challenge was to rejuvenate an occupied, antiquated workplace. Our design approach was to open the perimeters, raise the ceiling and utilize glass to allow natural daylight to penetrate through the space and celebrate the architectural details of an historic building. The introduction of multiple centrally located decorative staircases supported by flexible collaboration zones connect colleagues.
